Sydney's gone crazy!

Um, I'm ok, not caught up in any riots so don't worry!! It's all kicking off but not in the city centre, it's a few km out on the southern beaches. Sounds awful, though - it's weird when stuff like this starts happening when you weren't aware that it was brewing at all, but clearly, the original Cronulla riot was a flash-point for a situation that was developing over some time...as difficult race-relations have been globally, I suppose.

Awful to hear about the oil refinery in London, guys - my parents saying they could see it burning in the distance makes me think of when I was in Brisbane, and there was a bush-fire burning in the distance and we were saying "oh, that's not a sight you see back home." Don't speak too soon, right...?!

The good news (on a more personal scale) is that I have a new job lined up to start on monday! It's temping for 3 months in the office of the New South Wales Attorney General's office, in the asset management department. Hmm, not sure what any of that means, but it pays better than my current job and it's still in the city centre and, best of all, it will not be telesales. Thank god!!
